About Me
My name is Jo Anne, and I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My family's roots trace back to Wynona, Mississippi, and they moved to Colorado in the 1970s. From a young age, I discovered my passion for hair care, learning the art of braiding at just eight or nine years old. My mother, Julia, and my aunt Anniebell recognized my talent and nurtured my skills, passing down their knowledge and traditions. As I grew older, a dear friend, Jacqueline, helped me refine my craft, encouraging me to take my skills to the next level.
Determined to turn my passion into a profession, I attended the International Beauty Academy, where I earned my Cosmetology License. In November 2005, I founded Jo Anne’s House of Natural Beauty, a space dedicated to providing expert hair care at an affordable price.
As a single mother, I understand the importance of self-care, especially when financial challenges arise. While I couldn’t always afford everything for my daughter's, I made sure she always had healthy hair and skin. That personal experience shaped my mission: to offer high-quality, professional hair care that is both accessible and empowering.
At Jo Anne’s House of Natural Beauty, I am committed to helping clients embrace their natural beauty with expert styling, healthy hair care solutions, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether through braiding, natural hair treatments, or personalized hair care advice, my goal is to make every client feel confident and cared for.

About Us
Hair braiding originated in Africa 5000 years ago. Braids are a craft, a form of art. Different styles would symbolize social status, marriage, and ethnicity. Braids would also identify tribes' braids and hairstyles indicated many things. In 1900, braids became famous worldwide in Egypt, Greece, Europe Caribbean, and the United States. In the 1980s, braids hit the mainstream, and now all types of natural hair braiding and hairstyles have been popular with all cultures and ethnicities. Locs originated in Egypt, symbolizing a level of esteem and power believed that the Pharaohs would wear Locs and heavenly adorned with jewelry signifying wealth. The art and craft of Locs have also hit the mainstream, and many cultures and ethnicities were evolving worldwide. In addition to natural hair care, for centuries in Africa, ancient traditional natural plant-based products have been used for hair and skin care. As a result, the hair and skin have become extraordinarily moisturized and hydrated. During your haircare journey I look forward to assisting you. .
